House Extension, Gateshead

The existing Victorian house with distinctive polychromatic banded brickwork is Grade II Listed. Proposals include the construction of a garden room and outdoor living area in the location of a former glasshouse. The proposed contemporary extension ensures the character, legibility and integrity of the existing building is retained and navigates the changing levels of the site, providing access to the garden. The extension façade is simple in form and echoes the existing house proportions and will have subtle and restrained elaboration in the detailing.
